Frank Varelik
Frank Varilek, age 41, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Monday, November 17, 2008, in Yankton.
Funeral services are 1:00 PM, Friday, November 21, 2008 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Pastor Brad Danielson officiating. Burial will be in the St. Leo Cemetery in Tyndall, South Dakota. Visitation is from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, on Thursday, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a prayer service and video tribute at 7:00 PM.
Pallbearers are Laurence Nooney, James Carter, Tim Budde, Jeff Reynolds, Bob Trout, and Ron Leeper.
Frank was born August 9, 2008, to Jim and Wilma (Riggs) Varilek in Yankton, South Dakota. He grew up and attended school in Yankton. He went to work for a core drilling company which allowed his to work all over the world, off the shores of several different countries. He moved back to Yankton in February of 1999 and worked for Kaneb Pipeline Company, which is now Valero Energy Corporation. A few years later, he started working for Ability Building Services in Yankton, a passion of his since he was little. He worked as a house supervisor for a group home in Yankton. He married Kim Rempfer on August 9, 2007, in Menno, South Dakota.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, and especially spending time with the people served by Ability Building Services. Frank was a very generous man and had a heart of gold, always willing to help anyone with anything.
He will be missed by his wife, Kim Varilek of Yankton; two step-children, Emily and Drew of Yankton; adopted son, Vincent Varilek of Yankton; parents Jim Varilek and Wilma Haugen both of Yankton; sister, Anna (Jon) Nadenicek and their children Jason and Sara of Brandon, South Dakota; mother-in-law, Alvina Rempfer of Yankton; two brothers-in-law, Gerald (Peg) Rempfer of Menno, South Dakota and David (Barb) Rempfer of Marion, South Dakota; sister-in-law, Loralee Rempfer of Yankton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Lillian Varilek; maternal grandparents; step-father, Palmer Haugen; and father-in-law, Oscar Rempfer.
