Jacquelyn Ann Tone

Jacquelyn Ann Tone, age 58, of Yankton, South Dakota died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at her residence.

Funeral services are 10:30 AM, on Monday, January 26, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Yankton with Reverend David Gunderson officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Sunday, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a prayer service and video tribute at 7:00 PM.

Jacquelyn was born on September 14, 1950 in Madison, South Dakota to Jack and Marie (Bakke) Wulff. She attended Beadle Grade School in Madison and graduated from Madison High School. Jacquelyn attended Dakota State University in Madison, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education. After school, she taught in Gann Valley, South Dakota and would help out at the family business, the Lake Madison Resort. On December 26, 1974, Jacquelyn married Ron Tone in Madison. After their marriage, they moved to Livonia, Michigan. She stayed at home to raise her family, and then worked as a secretary at Peace Lutheran Church and School for a number of years. Later, she worked as an aide at Cleveland Elementary. In 1987, the family moved to Yankton. Jacquelyn went back to school and received her Master's Degree in Education from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. After she completed school, she worked as a substitute teacher. Over the next couple of years, Jacquelyn worked at Alco, Walmart, Ability Building Services, and H.A.P.Y. (Handicapped Advocacy Program of Yankton). At one point, she taught in Baltic, South Dakota for a year. Jacquelyn worked as a CNA at the Human Services Center in Yankton until her retirement. Jacquelyn loved to write poetry and enjoyed attending writer's group meetings. She was involved with Bible study at St. John's Lutheran Church and the Avera Sacred Heart Auxiliary.

Jacquelyn is survived by her 3 children: Terry (Vicki) Strang of Chamberlain, SD, Nicoly Tone of Fort Myers, FL and Roni Tone of Battle Creek, NE; 4 grandchildren: Kayla and Kylie Strang and Madeleine and Lydia Roskeland; her father, Jack Wulff of Wentworth, SD; 4 sisters: Anna (John) McMillin of Oklahoma City, Brenda Cruz of Livermore, CA, Janice Jackson of Stansbury Park, UT and Deb Bickett of Wentworth; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Jacquelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Ron Tone on June 19, 2007 and her mother, Marie Wulff.
