Marvin Mogck

Marvin Mogck, age 84, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Dani Jo Ninke-Greaver officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton.

Marvin was born March 5, 1925, to Emil and Bertha (Kost) Mogck in rural Olivet, South Dakota. He grew up and attended school in rural Olivet. He married Vesta Bertsch on November 25, 1948, in Kaylor, South Dakota. After their marriage they returned to the family farm where Marvin continued to farm the family homestead. He enjoyed fixing things, playing horseshoes, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, horses, playing cards, but especially his dogs.

He is survived by his daughter, Roxanne Klar of Yankton; two granddaughters, Toni (Chad) Haberman of Menominee, Nebraska and Mandy (Fred) Mooney of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; eight great grandchildren; brother, Clarence Mogck of Sioux Falls; sister, LuVerna (Edgar) Mueller of Scotland, South Dakota; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Casey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Vesta; son, Kevin Mogck; daughter-in-law, Jenne Mogck; and grandson, Lucas Mogck.
