Kristin B. Milander

Kristin Milander, age 26 of Coleridge, NE, died on Sunday, November 02, 2008 at the Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge, NE due to complications from Spina Bifida.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Coleridge with the Rev. Gary Kimm officiating. Burial will be at the Coleridge City Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at the Pilgrim Congregational Church. Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge.

Pallbearers will be Holly Blahah, Amber Goering, Heather Goering, Trevor Longe, Troy Longe, and Nick Puppe.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Berg, Warren Osborne, Heidi Osborne, Tracy Stavik, Jake Stavik, Jayne Leapley, Ann Cautrell, Amanda Hefner, and Matt Bixler.

Kristin was born on March 11, 1982 to Jon and Carol (Olson) Milander in Osmond, NE. She grew up in Coleridge and graduated from Coleridge High School in 2000. She graduated with honors from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion in 2005. She had a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Kristin had been employed by the Tea area schools in South Dakota.

Kristin was a member of the Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ. In High School, she loved being on the speech team and doing extemporaneous speaking and persuasive speaking. She was a member of the band, loved to teach Sunday School and Bible School. She was involved in various religious groups at USD, was an avid reader, loved to play games and was an avid sports fan and Nebraska Football fan.

Survivors are her parents, Jon and Carol Milander of Coleridge, NE; brother, Jeremy Milander of Lincoln, NE; maternal grandparents, Bertha Olson of Coleridge; paternal grandparents, Eugene and Donna Milander of Coleridge; 4 aunts and uncles and their spouses, Arlene and Ted Longe of Norfolk, NE, Ray and Roberta Olson of St. Paul, MN, Pam and Kevin Goering of Platte Center, NE, Karla and Greg Pippitt of Laurel, NE; special friend, Chris Berg of Lennox, SD.

Kristin was preceded in death by her brother, David, maternal grandfather, Howard Olson, and her great grandparents.
