Marguerite Kisner

Marguerite Kisner, age 74, of Omaha, formerly of Hartington, died on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Hartington.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 10:30 am at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with Rev. Jeffery S. Loseke officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be on Monday from 1:00 to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service and Video Tribute at 7:00 pm at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church. Memorials will be given for breast cancer research.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren Meghan Sims, Charles Bauer, Collin Bauer, Brian Johnston, Nicholas Johnston, Ashley Johnston, Jamie Becker, and Jenny Becker. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren; Madeline Sims, Lia Sims, Taylor, Haley, Leah, and Kenli Becker.

Marguerite was born on March 30, 1934 at Hartington to Archie and Anna (Augustine) McGregor. She grew up in Hartington and graduated from Hartington High School in 1951. She worked in the Cedar County Treasurers office until moving to Baltimore in1953. It was there that she met Kenneth L. Kisner. They were married on May 1, 1954 at Hartington. After their marriage they moved to Omaha where Marguerite devoted her life to raising her family. She was a very good neighbor and loved to sew and play cards. She belonged to several bridge clubs and was an active member of St. James Catholic Church and School. She later became a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth of Omaha, 4 daughters; Tonia and Chuck Bauer of Annapolis, MD, Deb Johnston of Omaha, Barb and Rollie Becker of Hartington, Kathy Howard of Roseau, MN, 8 grandchildren; Meghan Sims, Charles and Collin Bauer, Brian, Nicholas , and Ashley Johnston, Jamie Becker and his wife Tammy, and Jenny Becker, 6 great grandchildren; Madeline and Lia Sims, Taylor, Haley, Leah and Kenli Becker, 2 sisters; Norma Jean and John McCarthy of Bellevue, NE, and Marilyn and Gus Pick of Hartington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 grandchildren; Laura and Kyle Becker, and a great grandson, Nicholas Johnston Jr.
