Jane Dendinger

Jane Dendinger, age 69, of Hartington, died on Monday, November 24, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Hartington.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Friday, November 28, 2008 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with Rev. Jeffery S. Loseke officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service and Video Tribute at 7:00 pm at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Jason Dendinger, Travis Dendinger, Cullen Kohles, Andrew Feilmeier, Danny Kohles, Mason Dendinger, Keith Potts, and Bob Schwartz.

Jane was born on June 25, 1939 at Crofton, NE to Lawrence and Glondale (Kollars) Kohles. She grew up in the Crofton area and graduated from Crofton High School in 1957. She received her teaching certificate from Mount Marty College in Yankton in 1959 and then taught school in Omaha until she married Anthony "Tony" Dendinger on August 5, 1963 in Crofton. They lived in Hartington where Jane taught at the Holy Trinity Elementary School until 1966. She then taught at the Pleasant Valley Country School for one year, and from 1968 to 1971 she taught at the Hartington Public Elementary School. From 1972 to 1985 she taught at the District 57 Public School in St. Helena. In 1973 she received her B.A. Degree from Mount Marty College with a major in education. From 1985 to 1990 she taught at East Catholic in Bow Valley retiring due to health issues. She has been a resident of the Golden Living Center since June of 2005.

Jane was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Guild, and Christian Mothers. She and Tony loved to travel, especially with their children while they were growing up. She belonged to several bridge clubs and also enjoyed hiking and camping.

Jane is survived by her husband, Tony of Hartington, 3 children and their spouses; Russ and Carleen Dendinger of Crofton, Chad Dendinger of Ashland, NE, Shawna and Pete Christensen of Seward, NE, 6 grandchildren; Gina, Kyla, and Mariah Dendinger, Kade, Remi, and Bryn Christensen, 2 brothers; Guy and Bonnie Kohles of Crofton, Kevin Kohles of Crofton, and a sister, Debbie and Bob McKinster of Phoenix, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
