Elizabeth J. Buschelman, age 96 of Fordyce, Nebraska, died on Monday, December 8, 2008 at Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge, NE
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fordyce with the Rev. David Fulton officiating. Burial will be in Fordyce at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Visitation will continue on Saturday, at church, one hour prior to services.
Pallbearers will be Scott Buschelman, Tom Wilson, Tyler Pofahl, Craig Dreismeier, Joe Tangeman, Todd Pofahl.
Elizabeth Josephine Buschelman was born on November 8, 1912 in Menominee, Nebraska to Vincent and Elizabeth (Wuesterwald) Blaschke. Elizabeth grew up in the Menominee area. She married Clarence Michael Buschelman on February 19, 1936 in Fordyce after a four year courtship. Elizabeth and Clarence farmed in the Coleridge, Menominee, and Vermillion areas. They moved to Yankton, SD where they both did custodial work for Yankton College. She and Clarence moved to Fordyce in 1976. They continued doing custodial work at the school and church in Fordyce before retiring. She had been a resident of Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge since April 8, 2003.
Elizabeth was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and Christian Mothers. She loved gardening and being outdoors.
She is survived by her 3 children and their spouses, Allen and Myla Buschelman of Green River, Wyoming, Alvin and Dusty Buschelman of Topeka, KS, Darlene and Paul Dreismeier of Omaha, NE; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; one sister, Albina Schrempp of Yankton, SD.
Preceding Elizabeth in death were her parents, husband Clarence on February 25, 1992 at the age of 83 years, 1 great grandson, Andrew Tangeman; 5 brothers, John, Joe, Adolph, Benjamin, and twin Emil Blaschke; 2 sisters, Frances Kast, and Alice Thury.
